Show S. II. FOUNDERS HONORED NEXT WEEK Sugar House will take note of its 97th anniversary since it received its famous name through special store window displays, a showing show-ing of historical items in the Sprague Library, and a program dedicated to the early pioneers. The window displays and the library showing will begin be-gin Monday, April 23, which is called "Sugar House Founders Day." The program pro-gram will be held at the Plaza on Friday evening, April 27. It was on April 23, 1852, that a meeting was held in this community, then known as "Canyon Creek," that the name of Sugar House was suggested by Margaret T. McMeans "Ma" Smoot. |
