Lion Secretary Harold Ben-nion Ben-nion gave a report on the financial finan-cial status of the Annual Fall Festival and we are happy to state tnat it was very successful. success-ful. To those who attended' and to those who contributed to the success of the evening we extend our thanks. Our speaker for the evening was Kay Kirkham who was introduced in-troduced by Allen Terry. Mr. Kirkham recently returned from the Red Cross service in Italy, Yugoslavia and other Balkan states. He related many interesting interest-ing experiences with the various governments, secret police and people, as he traveled through these interesting countries in his special jeep. His job was distribution of Red Cross supplies sup-plies from America. He said "These supplies of food, clothing and other goods were distributed I 100 to those in need and the people know that these supplies came from America. Because of the motion pictures they see they think the American people are all gangsters." News and mail cannot reach them .The common people are genuine at heart, but were suppressed by communisim and the idea that the state conies first. Thanks to Lion Wayne Shaw for the above report on our last meeting. Yours truly had another assignment to cover and could not be at the regular meeting.
