Adopts Orphan At a meeting Wednesday evening eve-ning jn the Sprague library, the Sugar House Business and Professional Pro-fessional Women's Club heard a discussion on international relations, re-lations, approved committee reports re-ports of. club memlers and wrapped Christmas packages for shipment to war-torn Italy, France. Finland and other European Euro-pean countries. In addition, the local BPW adopted a war orphan. Mr. Joseph A. Curtis, social science instructor at West High school, gave a very interesting talk on international relations. His talk well fitted the action of the club in sending off Christmas Christ-mas packages to European countries coun-tries and in passing a resolution to adopt a war orphan through the agency of the national organization or-ganization of Business and Professional Pro-fessional Women. Other business of the meeting centered around Mrs. Albert Gay, who spoke on the work of the B. P. W. in Italy, and Mrs. Joseph Rimensberger who gave a record on biennial convention. The club has pledged to feed, clothe and give shelter to an orphan or-phan in a foreign country and has discussed plans for giving support to other children in the near future. According to Mrs. 0. C. Conniff, publicity chairman, chair-man, the cost of - this benevolent service will be approximately ap-proximately S15 per month. |
