Show Soatheasterner i Named New Art Club Officer Lynn Fausett.1105 Parkway ave. prominent Utah artist and well known local resident Sunday was elected vice president of the newly-formed Federated Artists of Utah. Unification of all school, college, col-lege, institute and university art departments and independent independ-ent art organizations into one state-wide group was completed Sunday with the formation of the "Federated Artists of Utah." The federation was formed at a meeting held in conjunction with the final day of the Utah Institute of Fine Arts show m the State Capitol. Officers Elected Elected president of the new group was Floyd V. Cornaby, head of the art department, Utah State Agricunuicu i'c6'-, and prominent Utah artist. Other officers elected were Mr. Fausett, vice president; Miss Helen Mills, Ogden, secretary; Miss Maud R. Hardman, supervisor super-visor of art, Salt Lake City public schools, treasurer; Oliver Parson, curator, Springville art museum, historian, and Gail Martin, secretary of the fine arts institute, publicity chairman. chair-man. The organization's purpose will be to unite in one state organization representatives of all art groups, art department members of schools and universities, univer-sities, professional artists and craftsmen, art teachers and patrons, pa-trons, adult amateurs and college col-lege level amateurs and' students, stu-dents, officials said. Besides the promotion of common policies for art and culture, cul-ture, the federation will sponsor traveling exhibits of Utah art works, hold quarterly meetings and sponsor an annual art festival fes-tival each November. |
