Show Westminster Juniors All Set For Hoop Finales Another basketball season is about over and final championship champion-ship games are being scheduled in the Westminster Junior League Saturday Granite Furniture will meet Bryan Juniors for the second sec-ond half honors while Sperry's Juniors and Harr's Garage will tangle in an elimination game for first half honors. The winner of the latter " game must play Granite Furniture; then the winners win-ners of each half will play for the championship. GRANITE FURNITURE SPILLS SPERRY JUNIORS 31-10 In the final round of the second sec-ond half Granite Furniture surprised sur-prised Sperry Juniors with an air tight defense and a speedy offense which handed the Sperry team its worst defeat of the season. Bob Smith and Merrill Davis proved themselves worthv of the "Ah Star" team with excellent games. Spug Petty at guard also looked impressive. Earl Fillmore filled the forward spot left by Ken Hig-gins Hig-gins very well, while Dick Harmon Har-mon and Carl Paulson turned in some nice defensive play. Sperry's just seemed to hit one of those "off' days and the final score was a long way from an indication as to relative strength of the two clubs. BRYAN, DODGERS WIN Other final games found Scho-field Scho-field taking 10 counters to carry car-ry the Dodgers to a 25-16 victory over the Monarchs. Pearson and Harr with 8 and 5 points paced the losers. Bryan Juniors blocked Southeast 3018 which makes the Bryan hurdle for the Granite Furniture five this Saturday. Reindfleish and Johnson each rang up 10 points. Highland Park and Parleys were left in second place by wins over Harr's Garage and Wasatch in remaining games played Saturday. |
