Show itder Ike Utah legislatures Thursday inS in the house of representatives repast the senate's uniform traffic code bill, with amendments to devote de-vote parking meter revenue to traffic safety and the senate passed the house bill providing a uniform driver's license law. The house repassed the traffic code bill, S. B. 26, after rejecting a conference committee report that recommended that the house recede from its amendments to the senate bill. The bill was passed after Speaker Speak-er Sheldon R. Brewster obtained amendments to devote parking meter revenue to traffic safety. Before taking up the uniform traffic code the house again killed kill-ed H. B. 121, providing civil service ser-vice for first and second c'ass cities. George W. Reid, attempted to Jraise from committee a bill dealing with handling of defective delinquents delin-quents and was bawled out by the members present. With a number of members absent on each roll call, it has been difficult to maintain a quorum on the floor. The senate returned the uniform traffic code bill S. B. 26 to the house with the request that the conference committee report either eith-er be rejected of accepted. It appeared Thursday, sixtieth and final day of Utah's twenty-fourth twenty-fourth legislative session, that, the legislators would continue into in-to Saturday. However by the process pro-cess of stopping the clock each house could continue until Monday Mon-day noon, starting time for the .pecial session called for by the governor. |
