Show COMMENTS WHO BLOCKS OIL PRODUCTION We have, heard a lot about the importance of the government gov-ernment securing naval oil reserves for the protection of the country in an emergency. How many people know that political pol-itical red tape is effectively blocking- the use of the Elk Hills Naval Reserve in California, and preventing it from furnish ing oil for our armed forces in the nation's greatest need? Robert E. Wilson, chairman of the Petroleum Industry War Council's Economics Committee, is urging immediate action in development of the Elk Hills reserve, contending that it is fairly certain that about 50,000 barrels daily of production pro-duction could be forthcoming from this field before the end of the year if work is started at) once: This committee has several times pointed out there is necessity for the development of crude oil from Elk Hills, he explained. |
