Owner Announces j Candidacy for House I of Representatives A Mr. Edwards Ward Edwards, Jr., has filed on the Democratic ticket a9 a candidate for nomination in the 10th Legislative District as State Represenative. Never before a candidate for 'political office, Mr. Edwards formerly held various positions in the Democratic organization. Owner and operator of the Ward Edwards, Jr. & Staff Ad-verising Ad-verising Agency. He closed his 'downtown offices and took a position as switchman for the Union Pacific Railroad for the duration as his contribution to the war effort shortly after the war began. He is 45 years old. Ife is a member of the Salt Lake B. P. O. Elks, the Brotherhood Brother-hood of Railroad Trainmen andi the Union Pacific Junior Old I Timers' Club. He received his ed-luction ed-luction from William Jewell College, Col-lege, Liberty Mo., and Central Missouri State Teachers College, , Warrensburg, Mo. Mr. Edwards advocates practic-! al economy in government, adequate ade-quate pensions, and postwar planning plan-ning that also includes the viewpoint view-point of the working man. He resides with his wife, the former Freda Scoffield of Layton, Utah, and 9-year" old daughter,' Mamie Alice, at 1835 South 6th East. I |
