Show NOTES FROM WASHINGTON The appointment of Lloyd J. Wincle as Superintendent of the Shoshone Reclamation Project in I Wyoming was announced by Secretary Sec-retary of the Interior Harold L. i Ickes today. Mr. Windle has served with the Bureau of Reclamation for nearly near-ly 20 years and has been Acting Superintendent of the Shoshone .Project for the past six years, since 1935. As a result of phenomenally successful treatment of the dreaded dread-ed eye disease, trachoma, among American Indians, physicians of the United States Indian Service are being deluged with medical ; inquiries from a large part of the i world. In many parts of the j world health problems have called particular attention to the seri-'ousness seri-'ousness and the prevalence of this sight-destroying disease have made the findings of the Indian Service a potential factor in national na-tional health programs. The valorous military tradition of the American Indian, unyieldingly unyield-ingly pitted for generations a-gainst a-gainst the white man is now being mobilized in defense of America.
