Show FORT DOUGLAS NEWS Military personnel and War Department De-partment civilians employes attached at-tached to Utah Army installa tions contributed $2,305,514.14 to the $24,252,233.93 worth of aggregated ag-gregated bond sales made at posts camps, and stations throughout the eight Western states during the Fifth War Loan drive, June 1st to July 31st, it was announced announc-ed this week by Major General David McCoach, Jr., Commanding General of the Ninth Service Com mand, at Fort Douglas, .Utah, headquarters. During the two months period the twenty-four million dollarg in bonds sales were made to civilian workers and military personnel commissioned and enlisted at installations of the Army Service Forces, Army Air Forces, and Army Ground Forces, in Washington, Wash-ington, Oregon, Califfornia, Man-tana, Man-tana, Idahoi Nevada, Utah and Arizona. Civilian participation through the regular payroll deduction plan increased during the campaign with sales reaching $7,814,659.11, the highest achieved since the beginning be-ginning of the civilian war bond program. The report, submitted to Gen-eral Gen-eral McCoach by Major W. L. Roche, Ninth Service Command War Bond Officer, also revealed that cash sales aggregated$12,. 076,658.88, of which $7,028,656.-32, $7,028,656.-32, worth were made to civilian employees of the three Army branches. Regular payroll deductions, through class A and Class B reservation re-servation plans for civilian and military personnel, respectively, totalled $12,027,748.90 which in-eluded in-eluded $7,841,659.11 in sales' to non-military personnel. In addition, sales to employes at Army Exchanges (FXs) reached $147,831.15. |
