Show R. W. MADSEN JR APPOINTED L.D.S. MISSION PRES. Church officials recently an. ounced appointment of Richard W. Madsen Jr., as president of the Western States Mission of the L. D. S. Church, and he plans to go with his family the first of Feb-rutry Feb-rutry to take up headquarters at the mission home in Denver, Col. Mr. Madsen is general manager of the Sterling Furniture Co., vice president of the Granite Mart Inc; secretary-treasurer of the Madsonia Realitv Co., and operates a dairy farm at 6343 9th East. He served on a mission to Hawaii Ha-waii four years; was superintend. ent ot tne sunaay scnooi oi me 11th ward of Emigration stake for 12 years; was first counselor to the stake president of the Cottonwood Cot-tonwood stake; stake superindent of the Big Cottonwood stake M IA. and is at present president of the high priest quorum in his stake. His wife, Lucile Ballard Madsen, president of the Cottonwood stake Relief Society lor several years, will preside over the Relief Societies Soc-ieties of the Western States Mission. Mis-sion. Their four daughters will accompany them to Denver. A son Richard William III, is serving serv-ing in the U.S. Navy. |
