Show BOARD OF HEALTH Local health officers reported a total of 142 cases of communicable commun-icable disease for the week ending August 22, 1941. This is 7 more than were reported for the week ending August 15 and 43 cases more than were reported for the corresponding week 1940. Twelve of the twenty-nine counties in the State reported "no disease." Two cases of tularemia were reported; re-ported; one from Millard County, the source of enfection being a mosquito bite and one - case from Uintah County, the source of infection in-fection being fly bite. Duchesne and Summit Counties each reported one case of Rocky Mountain spotted fever. A new case of typhoid fever was reported from Salt Lake City. One case of poliomelitis (infantile paralysis) was reported from Salt Lake City. The attend ing physician reported it as " mild case without paralysis." Whooping cough led the list of communicable diseases with a total of 40 cases. Other communicable diseases re ported were as follows chicken-pox chicken-pox 17, influenza 9, measles 6, German measles 2, mumps 16, pneumonia 2, scarlet fever 2, tub-erlosis tub-erlosis 3, paratyphoid A 1, gonorrhea gon-orrhea 5. and syphilis 25. |
