Show J. IF 6. IITIK 111 lliEII With a record attendance of members and guests, the Sugar House Chamber of Commerce held its annual outing Thursday night at Mill Creek Canyon. . Hyrum Young and his committee had arranged a ni'm-'-Jjer of prizes for the occasion and their awarding created "great deal of amusement. Supper arranged by Irwin Milgate, John Buehner and S. B- Eccles, was served in great style and was well prepaied. Games, directed by Mrs. J. C. Barnes, H. Clawson Silver Sil-ver and Steven Richards, provided exercise, for the guests prior to the program-Completing program-Completing the evenings events, the program arranged by the officers of the. Chamber -of Commerce, consisted of acrobatic acts by Ben, Sam and Bob Plow'gian; Dancing numbers num-bers by students of the Purrington School of Dancing, Vocal selections by the White Chapel quartet- A pie eating contest, won by Harold Chesler, was one of the amusing events of the party when Mr. Dhesler's ability to "lick the platter clean." outclassed the other contestants who were ' Sid Ottley, Sam Nicholes, Rod Ashton and E. L-Taggart, L-Taggart, Ron Hendrichs was scheduled for the contest but was disqualified when the judges dropped his pie. Earl J. Glade, president of the Salt Lake Chamber of Commerce, attended the party and voiced his approval of the entire event, adding his usual plea for cooperation and unity in organizations to make Salt Lake a greater place to live in Cordon P. Malin and Lflran Park tied for the first place in a jhorseshdc contest and they will have a play off to determine deter-mine the winner so that he can compete with the -Mayor of Salt Lake- The natural amphi-theatcr in Mill Creek Canyon provided pro-vided a stage for the program and offered greatly to the evening's ev-ening's pleasure.
