Show OPA Ceiling Backfires For OPA Office Itself KANSAS CITY, MO. OPA reports re-ports that the heat has been put on its local office. Funds for six electric elec-tric fans were approved by OPA and Charles Morphew, pane! secretary, sec-retary, set out to buy them. He came back hot and empty-handed. He had found the six fans all right, he said, but the dealer wanted far above the ceiling price. Even when he found out that Morphew was from the OPA, he still wanted more than the ceiling price, saying he had paid more than that for them. Morphew said a check would be made every few days to make sure the dealer hadn't peddled his fans at higher than ceiling prices. The dealer keeps his fans; the OPA keeps warm. : ' |
