GASOLINE To defeat the black market, gasoline gas-oline dealers in the past have been prohibited from accepting loose gasoline coupons. ' An emergency has arisen, how-ever, how-ever, making it necessary to per- . .lon r,f A-12 COU- HUL LUC ttu.' - pons by gasoline dealers until thej expiration date, September 21, i Numerous boards have been is-1 suing the basic A milage ration, before September 21. In order to( secure new rations, applicants have been required to surrender the back cover of their A ration books. This necessitated the tear-ing tear-ing out of the two or three remaining re-maining A-12 stamps. This circumstance makes it nec essary for dealers to issue gaso line in exchange for these stamps Because of this, it is doubly important im-portant that service station operators op-erators and attendants be extrem ely careful in checking the en-dcrcement en-dcrcement on all coupons. This is the only protection offered the station operators until the A-12: coupons expire September 21. 1 Extra care in checking coupons, will do away with the danger of accepting counterfeits. Community Service Release 133. COAL OR WOOD FUEL Heating and cooking stoves using us-ing coal or wood for fuel will be removed from rationing October 15, Mrs. R. L. McKean, community commun-ity service member of the Salt Lake City war price and rationing ration-ing board stated this week. Current inventories of coal and wood heating and cooking stoves are substantially larger than they were when rationing was started a year ago, the board member stated. War price and rationing boards have been instructed to issue consumers certificates until un-til October 15. This date was chosen because the peak season, which normally occurs in most areas in early fall, will have pass ed. Consumers who urgently need stoves during the peek period will have been more able to get first call on supplies through use of their ration certificates. Although dealers and distributors will be able to buy stoves without certificates cer-tificates after October 15, they may continue to use certificates with orders placed up to November Novem-ber 1, This will permit the use of the ration form to replenish their stocks, since orders placed with the form will have priority over those placed at at a later date without forms. This new order does not effect the oil heating stoves. Utah is now placed in the oil shortage area, and since September 9, all applicants appli-cants for oil heating stoves, have had to prove that it is impossible for them to obtain coal for heating heat-ing purposes. Only persons who are unable to use and other type of stove, or those replacing worn-out worn-out stoves, will be given consideration. consider-ation. This action does not mean that oil will be rationed. It simply sim-ply means that greater restrictions restric-tions will be placed upon raioning of oil stoves. a |
