Show INDEPENDENT ,1 Sugar House, Utah - Thursday, April 9, i959 Page 5 AROUND THE TOWN j Afton Seegmiller 1 Have you noticed how the styles in mothers has changed lately? It isn't that women aren't first last and always mothers, its just that now days it's hard to tell them from coeds. Everyone is diet concious and even the gals with several children have figures a teen-age- r would envy. And mothers today have so many interests outside of mere housekeeping that they are far more interesting people to their children. They keep well informed on what is going on in the world, they hold interesting jobs and still manage to do a bang-u- p job of being mothers. They try new styles in food, in clothes, and I know one little boy who has to rush right home on his mothers hair dressing day to to see what color her hair is going to be that week. This in my opinion is a wonderful trend it makes life for the for the whole family a fasci-nating game rather than a humdrum existance. Speaking of women with fun jobs Cleo Tedesco is surrounded by the most exotic collection of shells in the Arts from the Sea Shot), that you will see a rewarding experience again this week. Chatted with Loyal Atkinson of Dads and Lads shop and got some wonderful ideas for a new wardrobe for my young man. Said hello to lovely Gail Seaman at Southeast Furn-iture. I understand that the B. P. W. party of which she was chairman was a huge success. I Shopped in the sportswear department of Kieth O'briens and was served most grac-iously by Shirley Tucker. Even when the stores are open late en Friday evenings no one seems too tired at the end of a long day to be cheer-ful and vivacious. If you stop at the Spudnut Shop around four-thirt- y you manage to see almost every-one you didn't call on during the day, including the manag-ing editor. Spoke to Paul Pehrson at this stop, also Sherm Ander-son of Granite Furniture. All in all. I can meet more pleasant and friendly people in a few square blocks in this area than anywhere else that I have ever been. anywhere this side of Florida. There are shells of every dis-cripti- on from every part of the globe. Also jewelry, lamps, napkin holders, ash trays and flower arrangements. This store offers a unique service to people who wish to give a party using a marine decor. They will lend free of charge all of the decorations needed to transform your meet-ing place into an authentic is-land paradise.
