The exci-ting, exci-ting, event which was the last time these graduating st- udents will all be together climaxed the two week beard growing contest. Class officers Sterling Francom, president; Spencer George, vice-president; . and Dottie Duncan, secretary presented the prizes to the winners. Mike Caputo was awarded the Grand Prize which was a curry brush. Mackie Magel-by's. Magel-by's. growth was judged the Most Tailored Looking and he won a bottle of dipilitory cream. Marshall Beall was awarded a childs shaving set for the Beard Most Magnifi-que. Magnifi-que. The track team defeated South 85-47 at a track meet held on Wednesday, April 1, by winning twelve of the sixteen events. Wayne Smith and Mike Soulier made a fine showing for the Rams. The baseball team edged East, 3-2 in the first league game Friday, April 3, and on the same day the tennis team defeated East by the same score, 3-2. Highland won all the singles, and East all the doubles. Tom Morgan and Jerry Roberts led the golf team over East on the Bonneville course by firing 38's in Friday's game. Highland won 159 strokes to 170. The soccer team defeated West seven goals, to one at their game Friday. ? Tension mounting this week as the day for Highland's elections grow nearer. Primary elections will, be next Monday, April 13, with the final election on Friday, April 17. 0 |
