Telephone Hour Polly Bergen will be both hostess and singing star on the Bell Telephone Hour over NBC-T- V, Channel 4, Friday, February 6, at 6:30 p.m. MST when the award-winni- ng series presents 'The Music Makers" in its hour-lon- g colorcast. Polly will not only present her own distinctive style of music making but will also explain the art in her introductions of other stars on the program,Mr. H. K. Richmond, District Manager of the Mountain States Tel. & Tel. Company said. One of these will be JohnRaitt, singing songs by Rodgers and Hammerstein. He will be joined by Polly in songs from "Show Boat" by Kern and Hammerstein. The Hamilton Dance Trio will also be featured on the program to show how artists can "Make Music With Their Feet' VOTE- - DON'T JUST TALK Commenting editorially the Ontario, Oregon, Argus-Observ- er, said in part. "Louise Humphrey, Portland tajt expert, hit the nail on the head in her speech before the Oregon Farm Bureau Federation 'when she blamed taxpayer apathy as one of the big reasons for ever-increasi- ng expenditures, some necessary, s o m e, unnecessary. "Everyone gripes, but only a small handful care enough to try to do something. Major decisions involving large expenditures of money or just policy, are passed every day without a lift of an eyebrow or comment from the average citizen. vToo often the comment is 'What can I do? How I feel doesn't make any difference.' How wrong is this attitude. Each and every one of us has a weapon- - our vote. If only we could be bothered to take the time to mark a ballot when it is presented to us, we could do something. Too often, only a few take the time to vote--exposi- ng us not to the rule by majority, but to rule by minority."
