October 31, IS 57 Page 5 Westminster Students Score r Hit With Sugar House Ciub Students of Westminster College scored a hit with members of the Sugar House Kiwanis Club Tues-day when they presented a musi-cal program at the club luncheon meeting at Harmon Cafe, 1270 E. 21st South. Under direction of Professor James Vail, head of Westminster College music department, some 35 members of the concert choir won the hearts of their audience with the Joyous Christmas song, presented both in English and Norwegian. No less well received were "Sal-utation" by Gaines, ."Grieve Not 0 My Soul," by Williams and "Beautiful Savior," -- arranged by Christiansen. The program featured Leland Spendlove of Ogden as violinist, Robert Zancanella, Green River, Wyo., as pianist, and'Angie Kraz-ic- h, Frezno, Calif., and Alan Tra-to- s, Columbia, Utah as vocalists. It was the second appearance of this year for the choir. Dr. Robert R. Runnells served as program chairman for the lun-cheon meeting. ! Magleby, 805 Hudson." Mrs. Peterson, a sister of Mr. Magleby, is formerly of Monroe, Utah. Her husband, an eye, ear and nose specialist now of New York, formerly lived in Richfield. Assisting in the social event were brothers and sisters of Mrs. Peterson and their wives and hus-bands: Mr. and Mrs. McRay Mag-leby, Mr. and Mrs. Roy Wood-manse- e, Mrs. Jennie Taylor and Mrs. Fern Kimball. During the evening, a host of friends and relatives of the New York couple called at the Magle-by home. Mr. and Mrs. Peterson spent four days in Salt Lake City. D.U.P. Camp Meet, At a regular meeting of the Ebenezer Brown Camp of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers, held at the home of Mrs. Albert! Van Otten, 754 East 1380O South, in Draper, the twelve ladies pre-sent spent an enjoyable afternoon discussing the life of Wm. Derby Johnson, grandfather of the host-ess. Mr. Johnson was one of the ear-- ; y arrivals in the valley, and the story of his life and the times in which he lived proved a fascinat-ing subject. Light refreshments were served by the hostess. The Camp meets each third Fri-day of the month at the home of one of the members. |
