Show M. I. A. Girls Enjoy Camp, Outing Woodland MIA Girls' Camp was the site of a two-and-one half-day outing for 64 leaders and adolescent girls from Wilford Stake recently. Featured at camp were tent-pitching, tent-pitching, horseback riding, hay-rides, hay-rides, bonfire cooking and hiking. 'Squir-reLs, chipmonks, trees, bushes and flowers abounded as objects of nature studies and sheer enjoyment. Rain and hail washed out the first night's stargazing, but the second night was ideal for pointing out the Northern Cross, Big Dipper and . other familiar summer constellations. Plans to develop the newly-purchased newly-purchased 84 acre woodland tract are currently being made by 30 Salt Lake area stakes under the direction of George Z. Aposhian, President of Wilford LDS stake. A lodge is under construction in the center of the area and will be surrounded by tennis courts and a ball park. Under construction also are individual cabins, each housing 24 girls in separate beds. Out door camping, however, will always be in vogue for those who prefer it. The MIA girls will help raise funds through local group projects. |
