duchesne and I 1 many other communities of the basin and aad other sections of utah paid tribute to the memory of mrs olga mary alary pope whose funeral services were held here saturday at 2 the large audience and the profuse flower offerings were mute evidence of the high h esteem in which mrs airs pope was held the tha church was waa a literal bowey bowery of flowers the services were conducted in the duchesne ward hall by rev frank connor the little girls of me fourth grade former pupils of mrs airs pope acted as the flower g girls Is the act was wag de deeply ply touching rev connor read the service and aad offered prayer the quartet consisting of liable elsie johnson wiliam mortimer and grant drown brown sang bang love devine all love excelling robert G porter porte and W A paxton both briefly touched upon the noble character of mrs airs pope and told of her hermany herm many aay activities in the c community om which endeared her to all the people old and young mrs victor duke and mrs grant murdoch Al sang whispering hope 0 J smita sang face to pace face and rev connor preached a short sermon dealing with the resurrection the quartet then sang some day the silver cord will funeral tu march immediately following the song while walle the remainder of the audience marched out the active pallbearers pall bearers gant grant murdock murdoch lowe ashton victor duke james dalgleish 0 J smith and melvin poulson took the body to the front of the churell church where it was placed in a hearse and taken to the cemetery members of the immediate family followed the casket many other cara filled with people accompanied liae procession to the celete cemetery y reverend buckley read the com service the american legion auxiliary also paid tribute at the cemetery the ritual was read by mrs airs L C winslow and charles barton M mrs s olga pope was norn dorn july 21 24 1898 it at denver colorado she was the daughter of mr air and mra ernest Sch onlan they moved to duchesne in 1907 and have hav e resided here since bince that time olga as she was known to her many friends attended th the 0 ogden nigil school from 1913 t to 0 to 1916 she spent the next two years at central weslynn college wa bentoi ren toi missouri while at weslynn Wes lyan she elie taught algebra and geometry to pay her tuition she taught school at mt alt home duchesne and Jux juanita nIta she was married to J R pope june 18 1930 mrs pope was essentially a teacher her splendid home training extensive high school and c ollege college e work and her temperament tem qualified her foa this work her interests inte te rests her meff efforts orts her life was that of a teacher supt bupt paxton read the teachers er s work is done by annie pike after which ho he paid the following tribute she was true to the interests of the people as she saw them conscientious in the performance for mance of her duties anxious to continue her public record as a faithful servant that she let no opportunity pass to do good she was lot only a constant worker but she possessed that rare virtue of always having the courage of he her convictions she had bad high and lofty ideals of 0 her duties and responsibilities she was devoted to her friends she was a considerate loving wife full of gentleness tenderness sweetness finally weary tired out perna pg a e exhausted she was li in an unfortunate
