Show LARS LAPS J MARSING SUCCUMBS TO LONG ILLNESS PIONEER homesteader OF SIT BIT ONE OF TUT BASINS EARLY FAIL PARMER aaers 8 raid PAID ayaay TRIBUTES lars J marsing one of the best known men in the basin and one ot of the first homesteaders of the mount blount emmons bench passed away at his home at mount emmons last thursday february after a long cliness ll 11 iness mr Bl marsing arsing was born in salt lake valley on july 13 1861 on august 10 1884 he married miss bliss alvira powell soon atter after they moved to carbon county where their seven children were born in 1904 they moved to fort duchesne where mr air marsing had a mail contract for two years he carried mail between whiterocks fort duchesne and myton ile he also farmed a lease on indian bench in 1908 he took up a homestead at mount emmons being one of the first to settle that part ot of the basin always progressive and a firm believer in the future of the country he was untiring in his efforts in behalf of everything ery thing that was good lor for the community in which he lived he is survived by his widow and the following children mrs airs rhoda hartman bert L marsing al mrs rs frank T monks and mrs chloe M case all of mount emmons and mrs R wells of los angeles california all were present when the end came funeral services 1 were ere held in mt aft emmons ward meeting house on saturday february and were attended by a very large number of friends from all parts ot of the basin the large hall was completely tilled filled elders birch F bennion joseph case and bishop F E case were the speakers A mixed quartet beautifully rea rendered dered 1 I need thee every hour and the beautiful home mrs airs dastrup sang oh my father a duet was rendered by ira cannon and mrs F R driscoll twenty seven cars 0 of mourners followed the remains to the grave yard where the grave was dedicated by william lee powell |
