| Show L D 8 conference pursuant to instructions of the stake presidency I 1 herewith beg to report as follows the quarterly conference of the duchesne e stake of zion was held at myton on saturday and sunday the and dinst elder rulon S wells of the first seven presidents of seventy elder john H taylor of the general board of the Y M M M I 1 A and sister ruth M fox of the general board of the Y L A M I 1 A being the visitors from salt lake city and there being present also all the members of the stake presidency and many other local officers and members professors E S hinckley and fred buss of the brigham young university were also present in the interest of that institution and took an active part in the conference On ference saturday was devoted to work fork in in the interest of the mutual improvement associations and the religion classes the former of which reconvened on sunday morning at 9 for further farther work all of which meetings were devoted to the outlining of the work for the coming year the instruction and encouragement of the officers in charge of the same and to the general and guidance of the young peo ale the first regular session of the general conference convened at 1030 on sunday the and the concluding session at 2 p in of the same day although a general meeting of the people of myton was held in the evening at which the salt lake visitors were the speakers the principal topics of discussion at the conference were the importance of the care and training of the young people and the best means of reaching and influencing their lives the subject s ab of tithing and the responsibilities bili ties of citizenship now coming to the people in the form of a new county government through the hospitality of the I 1 people of myton the town hall the odd fellows lodge room and the school house were placed at the disposal of the conference free of charge in which to hold their several betings me tings for all of which the authorities in charge were very grateful yours very truly harden bennion stake clerk |
