Show BASIN BRIEFS The Roosevelt Riding club held a roller skating party, Dec. 6, at Victory Park for club members and their wives. Three new members have been accepted into the club: Elmer "Bumps" Eldredge, Mark Oberhansley, and Tony Le-mieux. Le-mieux. The organization now has a new club room over the Mc-Kinlay Mc-Kinlay Motor Co., office, and Ned Gines has presented the club with a new trophy case. Mrs Clair Labrum motored I to Salt Lake City with Mr. and I Mrs Harvey Mecham, to spend the weekend with her daughters, daugh-ters, Renee and Donna Rae, students at the BYU. Andy Norling, of Vallejo, Calif., arrived in Roosevelt this week' for a brief visit with relatives rel-atives while attending to business busi-ness matters. He is a guest at the Ted Harmston home. Mrs. Pearl Moysh left for Salt Lake Thursday morning after af-ter spending a week here with her daughter, Mrs. Mont Killian and family. She has been visiting vis-iting in Salt Lake and Ogden most of the time during the past several months. She will return to spend Christmas here. Chester C. Kimball, of Salt Lake writes us: "A mistake was made in last week's paper about Mrs. Hamilton and Glen Kimball. Kim-ball. Glen is my mother's grand-'son, grand-'son, and his father, Byron Kimball Kim-ball is my brother, also Ray Kimball; and L. D. Lisonbee is my mother's brother. ' Glen Kimball, my mother, L. D. Lisonbee and I spent the Thanksgiving day with my sister sis-ter Lydia Hancock and family at Bluebell, and with her daughter, daugh-ter, Ruby. Mr. and Mrs. Lee Harmston attended a Butane cooking school at the Gateway cafe in Vernal, Tuesday, Wednesday , they again attended the school, accompanied by Mrs. Eugene j Harmston and Mrs. Parley Timothy. Tim-othy. 1 Salt Lake beckoned Roosevelt Roos-evelt shoppers last ' weekend. Mrs. Jessie Orser spent- Sun-1 day and Monday there; Karma Dee Harmston and Virginia Burton were there for the weekend; week-end; and Reta Hutcheon went in Thursday. Mrs. Howard Harrison' was guest speaker at the regular meeting of the Fort Duchesne Women's club, Thursday eve--ning at the Ft. Duchesne club house. The Standard will, in the Dec. 22 edition, publish as many letters as space allows from children to Santa Claus. All children who are interested in letting Santa "really" know what they want for Christmas, should have their letters in not later than 12 o'clock noon, December De-cember 20. All practical nurses are invited in-vited to attend a social being sponsored by the Bureau of Home Nursing on December 21, in the Art room of the Lions House, Salt Lake City. A splendid program has been arranged and refreshments will add to the cheer of the Christmas Christ-mas season. Prizes will be awarded tQ cpntest winners,. Mileg Colton Is spending a few days with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. B. O, Colton, Jr. LaWanna and Dorthy Dill-man Dill-man entertained friends at an impromptu party at their home Tuesday evening. Present were Bob and Barbara Irmen. Annette An-nette Green, Lynn McClure and Georg Hightower. Rev. Charles Ray, pastor of the Roosevelt Baptist church, returned to town Saturday following fol-lowing a two-weeks'' visit with relatives in Alabama. While in the South. Rev. Ray talked to congregations at various Southern Baptist churches. Mr. and Mrs. James Lewis have returned to Roosevelt after af-ter spending their vacation in Florida with Mrs. Lewis' parents. par-ents. Mrs. James Schaefermeyer, who was taken to a Salt Lake hospital December 6, is the mother of a baby son. Bill Sather, of Meeker, Colo., was a guest last week at the home of his brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Bob Sather. Sa-ther. H. S. Winterton, of Kamas, is a guest at the Omni Winterton Win-terton home. Interested persons are requested re-quested to meet at the Roosevelt Roos-evelt Stake tabernacle Friday afternoon, Dec. 16, at 2 p. m. to repair toys for needy children. chil-dren.
