Show Mrs. Elsie Bird Golden Gleaner Award Received By Mrs. Shields Mrs. Marion S. Shields was chosen an Honorary Golden Gleaner at the Gold and Green Ball in Duchesne Friday night. Mrs. Shields was chosen for the forty years of service in the Mutual work. Present to see her honored were the following fol-lowing members of her family: Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Shields, Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Mecham of Roosevelt and Mr. and Mrs. Loryn Ross of Myton, and her husband Mr. Marvin G. Shields. Mrs. Nancy Gilbert and Mrs. Alice Beal of Bridgeland visited visit-ed Monday at the home of Mrs. Nelda Mecham in Mt. Home. A 4-H meeting was held at the home of Mr. Morgan Keller on Monday night. Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Ross visited vis-ited in Vernal Monday. They went , there to' ee Mrs. Ross' mother, Mrs. Cynthia Massey. Mrs. Marion (Gladys) Ross underwent a manor operation at the Vernal hospital Tuesday. She spent a few days in Roosevelt Roose-velt with her daughters, Mrs. Orlean Labrum and Mrs. Shirley Shir-ley Mecham, returning home Friday. Mr and Mrs. Charles Jensen made a trip to Salt Lake City Tuesday to get the paint for the church house. Mrs. Leah Richens, Mr. and Mrs. Alma Richens of Salt Lake visited over the weekend at the home of Mrs. Cynthia Larsen. Thomas Larsen went to Salt Lake Wednesday to take his physical examination. Mr. and Mrs. Myron Mower and boys visited at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Milt Larsen last Tuesday night. A crowd of men and women have been busy cleaning and painting the church house. Lee Payne of Provo and Leon Ross spent the weekend with Leon's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Marion Ross. Lee and Leon are room-mates at the B.Y.U. Those who attended the stake Gold and Green Ball at Duchesne Du-chesne reported it as being the best one ever put on in the Stake. Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Bird visited at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Marion Ross Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. Wanless Shields and Jer-y and Gery Shields attended Sacrament meeting in Arcadia Sunday night. |
