Show ; Rulon Gilbert Wins In FFA Contest Rulon Gilbert, of Arcadia, won first place in the area public speaking finals held at Union last Friday, sponsored by the Future Farmers of America. His subject was "Colorado River Riv-er Storage Project." Second place went to Blaine Palmer, of Uinitah High School, who spoke on "Soil Conservation." Mr. Gilbert will compete in the state contest next Thursday, March 25, in Salt Lake City, and Miss Alyce Smith, of My-ton, My-ton, will represent the FFA . chapter in the state sweetheart contest. According to Sharon Cum-mings, Cum-mings, agricultural instructor at Union High School, elections were held Tuesday, March 16, with the following officers named: Rulon Gilbert, president; presi-dent; Larry Ross, vice-president; Clayton Huber, secretary; Cline Campbell, treasurer; Richard Durfee, reporter, and Rondal McKee and Val Labrum, sentinels. |
