R- Sands Post and Unit No. 5 who attended the fall conference con-ference of the Legion and Auxiliary Aux-iliary at Altamcmt,- Sunday, were, District President JoAnn Tolboe and A. C. Tolboe, Post Commander and Mrs. Milton Lott, Unit President Alice Brum-mett, Brum-mett, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Adams Ad-ams ' Mr. and Mrs. James Dalgleish, Dal-gleish, Ralph C. Walker, Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Dean, Mr. and Mrs. H. C. Cooper, Mrs. W. R. Harris and Blaine Brokaw. The conference was sponsored by Xoyack Post and Unit of Alton-an, Alton-an, with Duchesne, Roosevelt, Myton, Vernal, Ft. Duchesne, Neola and Jensen members in attendance to greet visiting District Dis-trict and Department officers. Mr. and Mrs. Enoch Ahlfield and two children, who are now located at Vernal, were Myton visitors Monday evening to see Mrs. Ahlfield's brother, Jack Mieure, who is home on furlough. fur-lough. Mr.' Ahlfield, who is employed em-ployed by Loffland Oil Co., was stationed in Myton for several sev-eral months and greeted old friends while here monday. FRIDAY BRIDGE Mrs. W. H. Linck was hostess to the Friday Bridge Club at the home of her daughter, Mrs Rex Lamb, Friday afternoon. Bridge and a delightful lunch yvef.e Jtnlyed by Mrs. Bliss Lott Miss Alice Todd, Mrs R H. Burdick, Mrs. James Dal-gleish Dal-gleish and Mrs. Lamb High score prize was won by Mrs. Dalgleish. ' ENTERTAIN AT PARTY Guests of Mr. and Mrs. W H. Linck, Saturday evening were Mr. and Mrs. S. F. Morten-sen, Morten-sen, Sr., Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Lamb, Mr. and Mrs. Rex Lamb, Mr. and Mrs. James Dalgleish, Miss Alice Todd, Mrs. Bliss Lott and Mrs. R. H. Burdick. A delicious dinner was served, followed by an evening of bridge. Prizes were awarded to Mrs. Lott and Miss Todd. A. L. Schuckers went to Mt Pleasant, Friday, to attend the football game. His son, Jim, a student at Wasatch Academy, is a member of the football squad. Mrs. Emery Nielson, who has been confined to her bed, suffering suf-fering from a fractured hip during dur-ing the past three months, was taken to Salt Lake City, Saturday Satur-day morning by ambulance. Mr. Nielson accompanied her and after she received medical attention, atten-tion, brought her home that evening. Mrs. Nielson will still be confined to her bed for some time, but her host of friends are hoping that she will soon be able to be in a wheel chair or crutches as she steadily improves. im-proves. ' Mr. and Mrs. Carlos Clark are enjoying a visit from their son, Ben, who' is home on furlough. fur-lough. Ben has been stationed I at Palm Springs Beach, Florida serving in the U. S. Air Force as a welder in the ground crew. Mr. and Mrs. Bert Anicone, of Las Vegas, Nevada, were visitors vis-itors last week at the home of Mr. and Mrs. A. C. Tolboe, Mrs. Anicone's sister and brother-in-law. Other visitors during their stay were Mrs. Tolboe's mother, Mrs. Gladys Cleviston, and her grandfather and grandmother, Mr. and Mrs. A. D. Semkin, who came from Gusher for a family "get - to - gether." Mrs. Semken is the Gusher correspondent corres-pondent for the Standard. Mr. and Mrs. Ray Gill, of Salt Lake City, visited Thursday Thurs-day at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Emery Nielson, coming to the Basin to visit relatives and check on Mrs. Nielson's illness. Clyde Wing, a former resident? resi-dent? of Myton, now residing in Ogden, was greeting old friends Saturday afternoon. Mr. and Mrs. Ed Hart and Vern Holfeltz, of Duchesne, were visitors Saturday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. James Dalgleish. Mr. and Mrs. Ted Cooper and son, Frank, former Myton residents, resi-dents, accompanied by their daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Garth Wilkerson, came from Salt Lake City, Saturday, for a weekend visit at the home of Mrs. Cooper's mother, Mrs. Frank Bowden, and sdns, Paul and Lester. Mrs. Wilkerson Wilker-son is the former Lulu Cooper and made her home here during her childhood. Earl Hardinger, of Denver, visited Friday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Emery Nielson. Mrs. Denzell Hemphill and son, Bob, and Mrs. W. R. Harris went to Salt Lake Wednesday to attend the State Fair and visit friends and relatives, before be-fore returning home Friday evening. eve-ning. They visited Helen Hemphill, Hemp-hill, who is attending school in Salt Lake City. When returning home they visited Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Orr at Riverton. Mrs. Harris was a guest of Mr. and Mrs. Roland Krebs while in Salt Lake. Pvt. Jack Mieure arrived Sunday Sun-day evening from Camp Chaffer, Chaf-fer, Arkansas to spend his furlough fur-lough with his wife, who is residing re-siding with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Earl Gingell. |
