Show EUwanis Plans Kid's Day For September 22 Plans were laid last night at the regular meeting . of the Roosevelt Kiwanis club for the third annual observance of "National "Na-tional Kid's Day," on Saturday, Sept. 22, which will be observed by over 3000 Kiwanis clubs in 1 as many cities in Canada, Alas-, ka, Hawaii and the United ; States. According to J. D. Walker, president of the club, a committee commit-tee composed of Howard Harm-ston, Harm-ston, David Watkins, Bert Gardner, Gard-ner, Steve Bellon, Bert Burgess, Don Nielson and Fran Harrison, have been appointed to carry out the program, which will consist of a special section of the Roosevelt Roos-evelt Standard, similar to the j one promoted last year, and which raised over $800 that was turned into school playground equipment. Delegates to the Utah-Idaho convention at Sun Valley, Sept. 8, 9 and 10, gave brief reports. They were Pres. Walker, Floyd Peterson, Ted Harmston and Cliff Memmott. A new member, Bert Gardner, owner-manager of "Bert's Shop" was inducted into the club and assigned to the Public and Business Busi-ness Affairs committee. He was presented by Dale Ashby, chairman chair-man of the membership committee, com-mittee, and Cliff Memmott inducted in-ducted him into the club. |
