Show LEGION AUXILIARY HAS PASTRY SALE The American Legion Auxiliary, Auxil-iary, Win. R. Sands Unit No. 5, held a very successful Pastry Sale last week. Pies, cakes, cookies, rolls, etc. had very little time to be on display as the ladies of Myton were all eager to purchase fresh fiome-baked fiome-baked pastry and also to help along a worthy cause. They report re-port a nice sum was raised by the venture and may duplicate the sale at an early date. Mr. and Mrs. LaVor Dennis enjoyed a visit from Mrs. Dennis' Den-nis' father, Ashel Bingham, who' came from Salt Lake City to spend a few days. His many old friends were greeting him during dur-ing his short visit. Mr. and Mrs. P. E. Church enjoyed a visit Sunday from Mr. and Mrs. Mason Meeks and two sons of Kanab and Mr. and Mrs. Ken Pugh of Provo, who were enroute to Craig, Colorado. Col-orado. Mr. Meeks is Sheriff of j Kane County and comes from the hometown of Mr. and Mrs. Church. Mrs. La Mar Farnsworth is now making her home with her mother, Mrs. Paul Felter. Her husband left last week in the draft from Uintah County. Mrs. Farnsworth, the former Bonnie McKenna, will make her home here while her husband serves his country. Miss Shirley Harmon, daughter daugh-ter of Mr. and Mrs. Ross Harmon, Har-mon, left Monday for Logan, where she will enroll at USAC. Mrs. Harmon accompanied her, and they anticipate a visit and a bit of shopping in Slat Lake City before going to Logan. All members of the Myton j Elementary school faculty at- tended the teachers institute at Duchesne Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. Bert Carter and family of Provo were weekend visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Gingell. Mrs. Carter is a daughter of Mr. Gingell. Lynn Wilkins of Roosevelt was a weekend visitor at the Wesley Jenson home as a guest of their daughter Linda. Mrs. Giles Wood and son arrived ar-rived from Inglewood, Calif, for a short visit at the home of Mrs. Wood's brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. A. C. Tol-boe. Tol-boe. Merrell is on leave from the Navy and will return to duty early this week at San Diego, where he is serving as 1 seaman apprentice. Mrs. Wood, a former resident of Myton, was happily greeting her host of old friends while Merrell and Chal visited their former school mates. They left Monday Mon-day to return home. Mr. and Mrs. Loyal Perry and sons spent Friday and Saturday Sat-urday in Salt Lake City where they visited members of their family. Mrs. Perry underwent minor eye surgery while there and is getting along nicely. Mrs. Lavar Peterson and children returned home last week from a trip to Othello, where they took Mr. Peterson to attend to his farming interests inter-ests in that district. Mr. and Mrs. Milton Nielson and family are again settled in the school apartment after their summer vacation. Mr. Nielson is principal of the Myton Elementary Ele-mentary school. Mrs. Alta Hadden, who has been seriously ill following surgery at a Salt Lake hospital, is now reported as improving and it is hoped she may be j I able to return home in the not j too distant future. George Funk made a quick business trip to Salt Lake City, leaving Friday night and returning re-turning Saturday. after several days visit with his mother, Mrs. Elva Snyder, and other relatives here. Mrs. Dallas Ames left Tuesday Tues-day to visit her daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Wirthlin, In Murray. Myron Mower, Singer Sewing Machine agent, of Roosevelt, was in Altonah last week. The Relief Society held a quilting in the ward hall, Sept. 14th. The quilt was for Lucy Jacobson. Sixteen ladies enjoyed en-joyed the day quilting and a pot-luck lunch was served. Mrs. Jesse Palm and Mrs. Ty Kolb made a trip to Salt Lake Monday for a few days. Mrs. Elva Snyder left Sept. 15th for San Point, Idaho, for a visit, with her son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Curtis Snyder. Another son, Ted, of Tooele, accompanied his mother. Mrs. Albert Potts, of Upalco, is taking care of the post office. of-fice. The Potts are staying at the Snyders' during their ab-scncc ab-scncc GIVEN DISCHARGE Rex Clark arrived home Sept. 11th from Korea. He received an honorable discharge after spending spend-ing 1 year, 4 months and 23 days in Korea. We are glad to have Rex back. |
