Show Mrs. Ellen Bracken Phone 62062 Ballard Holds Annual Ward Reunion The annual ward reunion was held at the chapel on Monday evening, Feb. 22 just 28 years after Ballard ward organization. A delicious dinner was prepared and served in the basement, to a large crowd. The ladies had prepared the meal and the young girls served it. Mrs. Bill Parrish gave a reading, after which dancing was enjoyed. Mr. and Mrs. Parley Rawlings and Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Larsen furnished the music. The officers and teachers of the Primary entertained the children during the two hours following the dismassal of school. Chicken noodle soup, ice cream and cake were served. Mr. and Mrs. Max Farnsworth and children have moved from the Ballard ward to Neola. They have been farming the Warthen place. Mr. and Mrs. John H. Cook went to Salt Lake City on Monday, Mon-day, Feb. 22 and haven't returned re-turned yet. - Mrs. Pearl Jenkins, who spent most of the winter months in Salt Lake City, is at her home in Roosevelt now. She attended the ward reunion. Mrs. Ferrell Rasmussen made a trip to Salt Lake City the fore part of last week for a medical check-up. George Bracken made a business busi-ness trip to Vernal last Tuesday. Mr. and Mrs. Elton Kettle, son, Dennis, and daughter, Rose Marie, went to Salt Lake City and visited with Mrs. Chas. Pool and two daughters, on Wednesday, Feb. 24, returning the same day. Mr. and Mrs. Dewey McCon-kie, McCon-kie, of Salt Lake City, visited at the home of their daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Junior Betts during the past week. Word was received from Lew-iston, Lew-iston, Idaho, that Mr. and Mrs. Kent Gneitting were the proud parents of a baby boy. born to them Tuesday, Feb. 23. Mrs. Gneitting will be remembered as the former Lorraine Hullin-ger. Hullin-ger. Miss Beverly Squire, who attends at-tends school at Ogden, is spending spend-ing a few days at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Calvin Cal-vin Squire. Harold Wornack, son of Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Womack, made a trip to Ogden this week. Mr. and Mrs. Garn Bodily and children, of Salt Lake City, visited with home folks in the Basin last week. Mr. Bodily had been in a hospital for several sever-al days receiving medical care, before coming. They attended our ward reunion. Mr. and Mrs. Paul Reyos and family have moved into . their new home east of Alterra school. Mrs. Paul Nelson and Miss Hannah Richards took a group of first graders from Alterra school to Vernal on Friday to participate in a radio' broadcast. broad-cast. Mr. and Mrs. Wendell Johnson John-son and three children left on Thursday for Salt Lake City to visit Mr. Johnson's mother, Mrs. Zina Pearce. They also planned on spending some time at Pro-vo Pro-vo and visiting Mr. and Mrs. Farrell Mohlman at Bountiful. They returned home Sunday. Miss Joan Angus, who 6pent one week in the Roosevelt Hospital, Hos-pital, was taken home Sunday morning feeling much improved. im-proved. Earl Gardner made a business trip to Salt Lake City du-ing the week. j The Roosevelt stake will hold a dance each Saturday night and holidays at Victory Park, beginning Saturday, March 6. George and Duane Bracken are building a house just east of Whiterocks. Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Hullinger and two small children left immediately im-mediately after school Friday for Lewiston, Idaho, where Mrs. Hullinger will remain with her daughter, Mrs. Kent Gneitting a while. Mr. Hullinger returned on Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Gene Olsen and family, of Magna, have been recent re-cent visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Calvin Squire. Mrs. Olsen is Mrs. Squire's sister. Because of stake conference being held in Roosevelt next Sunday, no Sunday School will be held in our ward. Mr. and Mrs. Wendel Johnson attended the stake regional Seminary convention on Wednesday Wed-nesday evening, Feb. 24. Mrs. Ardis Kettle presented the Social Science lesson in Relief Re-lief Society on Tuesday. Mr. and Mrs. Angus Anderson Ander-son are caring for five children of Mr. and Mrs. LeRoy Anderson, Ander-son, of Myton. They were called to Tillamock, Oregon because of the serious illness of Mrs. Anderson's mother. Squire Mangus has gone to Flagstaff, Arizona to visit with some of his family and take his granddaughter, Mrs. Jennie Brock, home. Officers and teachers of the ward Primary were very well represented at the stage Primary Pri-mary Preparation meeting in Roosevelt Saturday afternoon. Mrs. Velma Frandsen, Mrs. Vir-gie Vir-gie Page and Mrs. Ardis Kettle presented a skit. Mrs. Earl Gardner entertained enter-tained a group of girls at her home Sunday afternoon to help celebrate her daughter, Mar-jorie's Mar-jorie's birthday. Games were played and delicious refreshments refresh-ments served. Mr. and Mrs. Von Haslem and family spent Sunday in Vernal. |
