Show Our Boys In The Service PVT IRVIN SOLMONSON Pvt. Irvin Solmonson, son of Mr. and Mrs. James C. Solmonson Solmon-son of Roosevelt, returned home last week for a ten-day furlough from Fort Ord, Calif He will report to Fort Bliss, Texas, upon expiration of his furlough. Pvt Solmonson attended the Roosevelt High School and enlisted en-listed in the U. S. armed service ser-vice six months ago. He is also visiting with his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. S. O. Solmonson. PFC. NEAL L. DASTRUP ALTAMONT Pfc. Neal L. Dastrup, 21, son of Mr. and Mrs. LaFarge Dastrup, of Alta-I Alta-I mont, is at present serving in the Heavy Mortar Co. of the ' 25th Division in Korea. He received re-ceived his basic training at Ft. Ord, Calif., and reported to Camp Stonman for Far East duty July 23, 1953. He has served in the Motor Pool with the 45th "Thunder-bird" "Thunder-bird" Division at Camp George in the Yang-Gu Valley until recently when the 45th Division was called home and he was transferred into the 25th Division Di-vision still serving in Korea. A graduate of Altamo'nt High School, he completed his second year at Snow College at Eph-raim, Eph-raim, just 4 days before entering enter-ing the service, March 3, 1953. ' ARVIN G. LABRUM ATLANTIC FLEET (FHTNC) Arvin G. Labrum, son of Mr. and Mrs. Morrell Labrum, of Roosevelt, has been advanced in rate to gunner's mate seaman, sea-man, USN, while serving aboard the radar picket destroyer USS Kenneth D. Bailey. Labrum, who entered the Naval service Dec. 12, 1952, reported re-ported aboard from the U. S. Naval Training Center, Bain-bridge, Bain-bridge, Md. Before entering, he graduated from Roosevelt High School. PFC. EARL McKENNA Pfc. Earl McKenna, son of Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert McKenna, arrived home from Fort Ord last Friday for a furlough. He is scheduled to leave for Camp Kilmer, New Jersey, on March 21, where he will receive shipping ship-ping orders for overseas service in Germany. Pfc. McKenna entered the service in April, 1953, with ap-. proximately one more year remaining re-maining for the service of his country. |
