A school for these fieldmen is being held on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday Fri-day of this week. Following this school at the State Office there will be county sign-up schools. It is now expected that famcrs can begin signing up for the 1946 Agricultural Ag-ricultural Conservation Program by the middle of February. Farmers Farm-ers who expect to participate in the 1946 program must be signed up by May 1, 1946. The 1946 Agricultural Conservation Conser-vation Program goes farther than any previous AAA program to meet the conservation needs of the individual farms according to J. Vern Hopkin, chairman of the State AAA Committee. Under the 1946 program, counties as well as states will receive an allocation al-location of funds to operate their conservation program. Assistance Assist-ance which the Government will ! give farmers, either in payments or in conservation materials or .service, will be based on actual 1 needs of the farms, according to 1 the money available and the I needs of other farms in the coun-. coun-. ty. This makes it possible for the j county committee to work out a 1 conservation program with each 1 farmer that will do the most for the money spent in conserving his water and land resources. |
