Show District Court Of Honor To Award Boy Scouts In keeping with national Boy Scout Week, the Court of Honor of the Roosevelt district will convene, con-vene, Saturday, February 9 to confer awards upon qualified scouts. The court will open its session in the Roosevelt Stake house at 7:30 p.m. Under the direction of Hollis Hullinger, district chairman of advancement and the court of honor, fifty individual awards, ranging from tenderfoot to star scout, are to be made. In addition -three troops .will -be present 'for. investititure. A total of ten Boy-Scout Boy-Scout troops from the Roosevelt district are scheduled to take part in the ceremonies. Plans for Saturday's Court of Honor have been formulated entirely en-tirely by the district officers, based upon court suggestions made by Dr. T. Earl Pardoe of the Utah National Parks Council. Coun-cil. During the evening's activities activit-ies an official statement, made by the late President Franklin D Roosevelt, on the value of scouting scout-ing will be read. The highest award to be made by the Court of Honor at the forthcoming session will be conferred con-ferred upon Scout Norman Hancock Han-cock of Ft. Duchesne. He will receive re-ceive the coveted star award. "Scouting in the Roosevelt dist rict is growing by leaps and bounds", said Chairman Hullinger, Hullin-ger, ''today we have more scout? in the district than ever before. The growing interest in Boy Scout work can be attributed to the splendid efforts of our District Dist-rict Commissioner, Paul Mur-ohy." Mur-ohy." Scout leaders today issued a welcome to all adults of the district dist-rict to attend the Court of Honor on Saturday night. The welcome also carried the note, "you are urged to be present". |
