Show Flying Service, C.A.P. Report Aviation Progress l The Roosevelt Flying Service find the Civil Air Patrol, reporting report-ing on the progress of aviation in the Roosevelt area, produced ' I facts and figures this week, indicative in-dicative of rapid strides in the Ay business. The RFS headed the list of accomplishments by announcing the purchase of a new Stinson Voyager, a 150 horsepower plane which will be available for emergency flights, family sight-seeing lours and chartered trips. The Stinson, according to Hoosevelt Flying Service officials, offi-cials, has "a seating capacity of i four persons including the pilot. It is capable of flying passengers to Salt Lake City in 55 minutes, , l and to Denver in 3 hours. Along with its announcement of the acquisition of .the new S passenger plane, the RFS listed ils other ships which include: i two 65 horsepower Aeronicas, one 85 h. p, Ercoupc, one 220 : f h.p. Stearman and one 450 h. p. ' BT 13. These planes are being taed under the G.I. training program. J To date the local flying service u has two instructors, Joe Mower Hal Crumbo; it has trained wree commercial pilots, thirty private flyers, and now has an I enrollment of thirty students. - The CAP, following close on f we heels of the flying service, t announced that it has inaugurat-y inaugurat-y i, edtwo sections of flight instruc-' instruc-' ! tons at the Roosevelt High Khool, and will organize two detached flights one at Du-I Du-I chesne and the other at Alta-I Alta-I mont. , .CAP cadets now have at their ' -wsposal a $7000 Link trainer, m adequate radio equipment. |
