Show DUCHESNE XSX2XSXSXSXSX2X! EXCEED BOND QOTA In the Fifth War Loan Drive, Duchesne again exceeded its quota. Incomplete returns show the $15,199.00 worth of bonds were purchased. This is the cash paid and not maturity value. The quota set for Duchesne was $12,-500.00. $12,-500.00. At the beginning of the drive the situation appeared to be difficult and was rather discouraging. dis-couraging. But many willing workers and splendid cooperation coopera-tion from the citizens here have again proved that we are "backing "back-ing the attack" and the Bond committee wishes to extend to the workers and the people of Duchesne their grateful appreciation apprecia-tion for their splendid help and cooperation. Mr. and Mrs. J. Lamar Johnson John-son and family and Miss LeDene Poulson are spending this week at the Johnson Sawmill north of Hanna. Glen S. Hatch, attorney of He-ber He-ber City was attending to court matters in Duchesne last Thursday. Thurs-day. Alma Warren of Boneta was a business visitor here Monday. Mrs. Hildur W. Johnston, who has been City Recorder for the past several years, resigned from this position at the last meeting of the City Council, to take effect ef-fect August 1st. Mrs. Leila Wardle and her mother, Mrs. Luna Smith were guests of Mrs. Wardle's daughter, Mrs. Harold McKenna in Heber City over the 4th of July. Joe W. Rozelle of Park City was attending to business matters mat-ters in Duchesne last week. While here, he employed Roy Eli-son Eli-son as foreman of the ranch property, which he has purchased purchas-ed from John Moulton and A. M. Murdock. Orson Mott and son, Alma, who are both serving in the armed forces, spent a furlough with relatives and friends in Duchesne Du-chesne this week. Mrs. Edna Peterson and children chil-dren were guests of relatives in Ioka over the 4th of July. Guy Wilcken spent Sunday at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs, George H. Wilcken and left Monday for Farragut, Idaho, where he will receive training in the U S Naval Forces. Guy enlisted en-listed in the Navy sometime ago, but just received his call for duty last week. |
