Show Britisher Claims U.S. Is Main Danger Of War It is always interesting to hear what some of the prominent people peo-ple of the world say about current cur-rent events. For example, J. B. S. Haldane, famous British scientist, scien-tist, recently told the United Nations' Na-tions' Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization that "the main danger of a new war comes from America." The British scientist insisted that American imperialism is "at last a reality" because Americans Amer-icans have "come 3,000 miles to establish bases in England." He then suggested that when Soviet So-viet Russia does the same thing, "it will be time to talk of Soviet Sov-iet imperialism." The statement of the British scientist may be confusing to those who do not consider more than he said. It is perfectly true that the United States has established estab-lished air bases in England, but it should be pointed out that they are operated to make possible pos-sible the air shuttle into Berlin, designed to feed about two and a half million Germans. The half-truth about "when Soviet Russia does" the same is dangerous only to those who are not familiar with what Soviet Sov-iet Russia has done, in the way of imperialism, in Eastern Europe. Eur-ope. Compared with ruthless establishment es-tablishment of Communist rule in neighboring countries, the so-called so-called "imperialism" of the United Uni-ted States becomes nothing more than a mild adventure in international inter-national good will. |
