Show j Veal Sill: ' Roosevelt, Utah 'May 1. 1947 I The local gendarmes arc mad, r and getting madder by the mo-7. mo-7. ment. It all came about this way, first folks forgot about traffic laws, parking, etc. and the marshals have just served notice that the traffic laws are written lor a purpose, and must be obeyed. Now, lo top it off, they're having grief with youthful air rifle artists, who insist on knocking knock-ing city lights out of commission , with their lethal weapons So last night the marshals decided de-cided that they were through pulling their hair over the BB gun situation, and have decided b-to act. They quote a city ordinance ordin-ance too, Bill, which says that a fellow can't shoot an air rifle, or any kind of rifle, within the city limits. And from what I understand, and I believe I understood un-derstood Gendarme Hacking correctly cor-rectly last night, when he said that from now on any youngster young-ster who is found' shooting an air rifle in the city would be subject to punishment. By jmn-. jmn-. tjshment he meant that the olfen-' olfen-' der would lose his gun, once and for all. It sounds like the marshals Tnean business, and pretty Xod business at that. And by the way, it seems to me that somewhere there are two laws, Federal and Sate, that prohibit anyone from killing or attempting to kill Ong birds with an air rifle, etc., - whether they be in a city or 75 miles out in the country. Well, Bill, it's warming up, in lact it's down-right hot here- to-iiy'ubut to-iiy'ubut not ay hotter 1han .
