Show School Board Adds Musical Training A music program, designed to g'ivc individual and group instrument instru-ment instruction was inaugurated this week by the Duchesne county coun-ty school board as a part of the regular summer school program. In outlining the program Assistant As-sistant School Superintendent Floyd S. Holm explained that provisions had been made for junior and senior band work, instrument instruction for individuals indi-viduals and" possibly some vocal training.' Vocal instruction. Mr. Holm said, would depend upon the interest shown. The course will be held twice a week during the summer, and is under the direction of Jay Pond. Mr. Pond is a graduate of the USAC and has completed a year's graduate study at the University of Southern California. Cali-fornia. He received his degree in musical mus-ical education and has classroom experience in Utah, Idaho and Nevada. Persons who failed to enroll in the course last week, may do so at the Elementary school, Tuesday, June 14, at 1 p. m., Mr. Holm advised. |
