Show Work Ended By Nine Utah 0 P A Beards November 1 OPA closed all price control boards throughout the nation at the close of business, November 1, 1946. Nine Utah boards Salt Lake City, Ogden, Provo, Logan, Richfield, Cedar City, Vernal, Epraim and Price were affected. The district office at Salt Lake City and all rent control offices will remain open fo.r an indefinite period. Paid personnel will be given 30-day termination notices on November 12. Between this date and December 12, when their services are terminated, they will be engaged in finishing up the work necessary for orderly closing, H. Grant Ivins, Utah district OPA director, announced. announ-ced. "Board members,' " volunteers, and paid personnel, who administered admin-istered the price control and rationing ra-tioning program have much to be proud of," Mr. Ivins said. "They deserve the thanks of the entire nation for their patriotic service. They saved their country coun-try billions of dollars in the cost of winning the war and consumers consum-ers additional billions of dollars in the cost of living." Rationing of sugar and price control of commodities not yet decontrolled building materials, war surplus goods, services, apparel, ap-parel, automobiles and consumer consum-er durables will be administered administer-ed by the Salt Lake City district office. Certificates of transfer covering sales of used passenger passen-ger cars can be obtained from auto dealers. Pending compliance compli-ance actions by the boards will be transferred to the district office. |
