Show Priesthood Duties Stressed At Stake Conference The quarterly conference of the Roosevelt stake( held Sunday, Sun-day, November 3, stressed the work of the Aaronic priesthood, and featured talks dealing with the activities and responsibilities of those who hold the priesthood. The conference opentd on Sunday Sun-day with priesthood and girl leadership sessions where Sherman Sher-man Asay, Jack Nixon. Boyd Lemon, Thomas E. McKay, assistant as-sistant to the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles, and Bishop E. J. Nixon discussed Aaronic priesthood work. Music, for the special session was offered by Eldon Winterton and Alan Smith, accompanied by Mrs. Nida Winterton. The first general session on Sunday morning was presided over by Leland M. Angus with Bert Angus offering invocation and the Singing Mothers of the Neola ward, under the direction of Mrs. Lillian Wilke.r?on and Mrs. Agnes Bircher providing the opening music. Bob Benson, Bonnie Hullinger, Mrs. Virgie Murphy. Thomas R. Todd, Mrs. Hazel Ash1 on, Bernice Palfrey-man Palfrey-man and Messrs Knowlton and McKay presented brief topics on phases of activity. The conference confer-ence recessed after hearing a number from the ladies' chorus of the Roosevelt ward, under the direction of M.rs. Elaine Hullinger. Hullin-ger. Wayne Timothy offered the mornings benediction. The afternoon session was conducted con-ducted by President Rav E. Dill-man Dill-man with the group joining in community singing under the direction of CurlU Walton, and accompanied by Mrs. Netli Reynolds. Rey-nolds. Invocation was offered by Joseph Lambert, a life-long member of the church who turned turn-ed 90 years old on October 27. General and . stake authorities were presented for the vote of the members present. Speakers at the afternoon session were: Reuben Wilson. President. Dill-man, Dill-man, Harold Crapo, Clifford Droll in ger, Joel Parry. Mrs. Knowlton and McKav. Music was furnished bv a ladies' chorus chor-us from the Ioka ward, under the direction of Cecelia Jones. Benediction was offered bv Byron By-ron Belnap, principal of the Roosevelt seminary. The evening session was under the direction of the stake Mutual with Paul Nelson and Blanche Murphy in charge. |
