Show Cars Collide As Lights Fail A head-on collision between be-tween two cars, attributed to faulty lights, resulted in injury to Mrs. Keith Gillen last Friday evening at the underpass, 5 miles west-of Roosevelt. Thrown through the window of the car driven driv-en by her husband as it collided with an automobile operated by Howard Dennis, Mrs. Gillen suffered serious head injury and a possible skull fracture. According to Lieutenant Sammy Hatch of the Utah Highway Patrol, who investigated in-vestigated the accideit; the lights on both cars were blacked out as they approached ap-proached the underpass from opposite directions. They met on the center line of the highway, a split second sec-ond after the lights' of the Gillen car flashed on. Both cars were damaged to the extent of about $300 each. The Gillens were enroute to Randlett to spend the weekend with Mrs. Gillen's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ray ' Barney. |
