Show Farm Committee Election Notices Ready For Posting Farmers in Duchesne county will receive notices within the next few days about annual elections of community and county farmer-committees, Wm. O. Larsen, Chairman of the County Agricultural Conservation Conserva-tion committee, said today. Each of the county's 9 farming communities will elect three committeemen and two alter nates, as well as a delegate to the county convention where a three-man county committee will be elected. Announcement of the definite dates, hours, and places . for holding the elections is now being determined. Mr. Larsen said that approximately approx-imately 717 farmers are eligible to vote in the elections this year. Eligible farmers are those who are participating in the 1946 Agricultural Conservation program or the sugar program, or who have a contract with the Federal Crop Insurance Corporation. Cor-poration. This includes owners, operators, tenants and sharecroppers share-croppers on farms where the conservation or the sugar program pro-gram is being carried out. In announcing the coming elections, Mr. Larsen urged that all farmers who are entitled to vote attend their community meetings. Since the committeemen committee-men are responsible for developing, devel-oping, adapting and administering adminis-tering national farm programs 'o meet local problems and needs, it is important that the men elected represent the choice of the majority of farmers in the community. |
