Show 1 Don't Use Rights Tc Complete High School, Gl's Told Veterans from the Roosevelt area who plan to enter .college at some future time are urged to not use up any of their eligibility eligi-bility under the G. I. Bill to complete high school courses, ac-; cording to O. L. Burton, contact representative in charge of the Veterans Administration office at Roosevelt, Utah. J Mr. Burton lists at least two major reasons for this stand. In the first plae veterans under 21 may attend high schools in their own areas free of charge, and by not signing under the Bill they are saving money and eligibility time for such more expensive college training -at government expense. Another possibility, which some veterans should consider, is that they might not have to complete their high school courses cour-ses at all before entering college. Nearly all' colleges have made arrangements for vets to take special entrance tests in which credit is given for military, training. train-ing. Veterans Administration statistics statis-tics show that less than 20 per cent of the vets taking such tests this fall failed to be accepted. Furthermore, many of those who passed had less than two years of high school. |
