Show MONTWELL ALL SET FOR BIG LABOR DAY CELEBRATION, SEPTEMBER 3 This Will Be the Last Rodeo and Racing Event Staged In Basin This Year The community of Montwell has completed all plans for their annual Rodeo and Racing celebration cele-bration to be held this year on their new grounds, known as the Artesian. Well park. They have recently constructed one of the ' best regulation race tracks in the country, which is located in this beautiful spot, with plenty of crystal fresh water. $500.00 In Prizes This year's committee has set up $500.00 in cash prizes, which will be distributed among the following events: Rodeo bronc riding, $75.00; bare back riding, cash prize; steer roping, $1.00 per mount; team roping, cash prize; calf roping, $30.00; Wild cow milking, cash prize; potato and sack race, cash prize; racing events free for all, $70.00; saddle sad-dle horse, $60.00; relay race, 2-year 2-year old and pony, cash prizes: chariot race, $35.00 The program of the day will start promptly at 1:00 p. m., under un-der the direction of the newly organized Recreation association and all proceeds from the year's celebration will go into prizes and ground expenditures, x. |
