Orrin Swain and wife accompanied accom-panied Clive Sprouse to Price Monday on business. Mrs. Annie Marcos received word from her son, Victor Davis, Da-vis, who is in the U S Army, he had been transferred from Camp Wolters, Texas, to Ft. Riley, Kansas. Victor stated he was well and said to tell everyone every-one in LaPoint "Hello". A party was held at the Neola hall Monday evening in honor of Earl Neumeyer, son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Neumeyer of La-Point. La-Point. Earl is the third son of the Neumeyer's in the Armed Forces. For-ces. Don has been in the Army three years and is serving in North Africa. Willis has been in the Service nearly two years and is stationed in California. Mr. and Mrs. Wm. S. Perry of Deep Creek sold their rarfch to .Clive Sprouse Monday. The I Perry s have lived at Deep Creek 1 the past thirty-five years. Mrs. Bessie Winn and child ren of Roosevelt, also Mr. and Mrs. Roy Long and children and Bill Long of Altonah, visited Mrs. Guy Long Friday. A handkerchief shower and party was held Friday night at the home of Miss Beulah Taylor Tay-lor under the direction of Mrs. Pearl Preece, Bee Hive teacher, for Miss Loma Hardy, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Elmo Hardy. Games were played and a delicious de-licious lunch served. The Hardys have bought a home in Vernal and will move there in the spring. Mrs. Evelyn Richardson and Laura Perry of the Stake Relief Society of Vernal, attended Relief Re-lief Society meeting here Sun-day. Sun-day. Harold Lundell and Warren Richardson of Vernal were the speakers at Sacrament meeting Sunday. Shirley Huber played a piano solo. Kenneth Hartle and family attended at-tended a birthday dinner Sunday Sun-day at the home' of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Hartle at Bennett in honor of his sister, Elna. Mrs. Lula Tanner of Cedar City, has been visiting her daughter, Mrs. Elmer Huber and family the past week. She also visited her son, Jay Fillerup and family at Jenson. The Fillerups have a new boy. Nettie Richens, Uintah county school nurse and Lola Christen-son, Christen-son, supervisor of the Hot Lunch program, of Vernal, visiting the Lapoint school last week. Jesse Labrum of Deep Creek, received word that his son, Roy, has been transferred from Salt Lake City to Oregon and that his daughter. Flora, has been operated on for appendicitis at a hospital in Provo. |
