Show Rites Held Tuesday For Mrs. Whitmore Civic Worker and Past Matron of Duveromy Chapter, No. 17, O E S The heartfelt sympathy of the entire community went out to Dr. D. P. Whitmore when they learned of the death of his esteemed es-teemed wife, Mrs. Eva Belle Whitmore, who died Saturday in a Salt Lake City hospital. Funeral Fun-eral services were conducted Tuesday at 2 p. m. in the Masonic Mason-ic temple, 650 East South Temple Tem-ple street by Radient chapter No. 12, O E S. Rt. Rev. Arthur W. IMoulton, Episcopal bishop of Utah, officiated. She was born in Grand Meadow, Mea-dow, Minn:, May 4, 1888, a daughter of John W. and Susan Barber. She was a past matron of Duveromy chapter, No. 17, O.E.S, Roosevelt, and was a member of the P E O sisterhood chapter in Vernal. She is survived by her husband; hus-band; a son, Captain J. D. Whitmore, Whit-more, serving in the U S Army medical corps at Camp White, Oregon; and a daughter, Lieutenant Lieu-tenant Marilyn J. Whitmore, A N C. Mrs. Whitmore was married I to Dr. David P. Whitmore in Springvally, Minn., in 1816 and shortly after went to Rock Springs, Wyo., but remained there a short time, coming to Roosevelt in 1917. Except for a few years in Colorado, she has lived here the most of her married mar-ried life. She has been active in all civic affairs, making the community com-munity a better place in which to live, and the many who knew her were influenced by her cheerful, helpful and wholesome attitude toward life. She was always al-ways one of the first to help in any worthy cause and she will be greatly missed. Captain and Mrs. John David Whitmore attended the funeral services in Salt Lake City but the Captain had to return to Camp White, immediately after the services. Lieutenant Marilyn Mari-lyn J. Whitmore was unable to be in attendance as she is at a point of embarcation and could not be released. Burial was in the family plot in Mt. Olivet cemetery. |
