Show DIRECTOR OF LIONS CLUB SHOW kmW TO PRODUCE 'PEP PARADE' Local Talent Featured In Three Act Ccmedy And Review Slated For December 13; Cast Selected WITH THE Roosevelt Lions club as the sponsor, the home talent tal-ent show, "Pep Parade," will be helcf Friday evening, December 13 at 8:01 p. m. in the Roosevelt ward hall, and proceeds from the production will go to the Utah Centennial fund. Under the able direction of Miss Thelma Sherman, who arrived ar-rived in Roosevelt last week to produce the play for the Lions club, plans are now complete with an excellent show, featuring featur-ing all local talent, promised. Miss Sherman, who hails from Denver, has produced and directed direct-ed the "Pep Parade," in Kansas. Oklahoma, Colorado, Washington Washing-ton and Oregon during the last seven months. She was a teacher of speech and dramatics in her home state of Colorado prior to her enlistment in the WAC. Miss Sherman spent 27 months in the service as an instructor in arts and crafts, assigned to a neuropsychiatry neuro-psychiatry hospital, and upon her release from the Women's Army Corps, engaged in the production pro-duction of the "Pep Parade." TODAY. Miss Sherman announced an-nounced that some very fine local talent has been procured for the forthcoming show. "The Roosevelt high school girls chorus chor-us will be the chorus for the "Pep Parade," and their ability and evident enthusiasm promise some exceptional chorus and dance numbers," Miss Sherman stated. Appropriately costumed, the girls will open the show with the song number, "Great Day," and hit their full stride in the waltz offering done to the music of "Eeautiful Lady." There will be music before the curtain and Ul L VV lilt C&v.b. A slap-stick comedy in three acts, unsophisticated and hilarious, hilar-ious, "Pep Parade," tells the story of a hen-pecked husband, a domineering wife, a wealthy aunt and her $100,000. Action is based on the efforts of shady characters to relieve the aunt of her money, and the attempts of her relatives to prevent it. SELECTION of the cast was completed Tuesday, and announced announ-ced by Miss Sherman as follows: Henry Peck, Bennic Schmiett; Gussie Peck, his wife. Mrs. Myrtle Myr-tle Lambert; Judy Peck, Mrs. Rose Marie Cook; Tommy Meadows, Mea-dows, Nyals Andreason; Aunt Mattie Hotchkiss, Mrs. M. J. Edwards; Madame De LaClair, Mrs. Nyals Andreason; Keith Trevelyaii. "George Stewart; Ros-' eola, the Negro cook, Mrs. Belle Harmston; Hortense Johnson, Miss Norma Call; Dr. Dora Druggins, Mrs. Ellen Rawlings. Promoter will be Mrs. Marva Corbridge; Jack Mohlman will be the soloist, and Mrs. Cleo Mohlman the accompanist. Originally planned for the Elementary gym, the show has been shifted to the Roosevelt ward hall where conditions are better suited for its presentation. |
