Show Fa Shortage Continues Serious The need for salvaging of fats remains important, according to a representative of the national used fats salvage committee who visited in Roosevelt Wednesday. In July of 1946, he pointed out, 44,000 pounds of used fats were turned in. 10,000 pounds less 'than for July of 1943. The manufacturing of soaps, ; automobile tires, certain household house-hold appliances and nylon hose are dependent upon an adequate supply of fat;. The shortage of which Is a factor in retarding the maximum production of these commodities. ' In stressing the Importance of fat salvage, soap manufacturers are calling attention to the fact that 1 pound of used fat will produce pro-duce 1 24-ounce package of i cranulalod soap or 5 bars of toilet toi-let soap. Governor Maw has proclaimed August 16 to September 16 as the dates for a statewide fat salvage sal-vage campaign. |
