Show Sudden Illness Claims Life Of Vivian S. Gleaton Mrs. Vivian Afton Snyder Gleaton, well known Roosevelt matron, died Saturday, November Novem-ber 22 at 5 a, m. in the Roosevelt Roose-velt hospital following a short illness. Mrs. Gleaton entered the-hospital the-hospital last Wednesday to undergo un-dergo treatment for a throat condition. con-dition. Her sudden death Is attributed at-tributed to septicemia. She was born December 8, 1909 at Yost, Box Elder county, Utah, a daughter of Newell and Catherine Tribble Snyder. The family moved from Yost to Snyderville while Mrs- Gleaton was a child. They came to the Uintah Basin about 33 years ago, settling in Vernal. Mrs. Gleaton attended school there and graduated grad-uated from the Uintah High school. She married E. D. (Jack) Gleaton at Vernal, May 25, 1929. After residing in Vernal and Salt Lake for a short time the Glea-tons Glea-tons took up their permanent home in Roosevelt, Mrs, Gleaton was a member of the Roosevelt Baptist church at the time of her death, and until recent years was actively engaged in American Legion Auxiliary work. She served the Auxiliary of Basin Post No. 64 both as president and secretary. At the time she was taken ill, Mrs. Gleaton was supervisor at the Roosevelt Elementary school. She is survived by her husband, hus-band, E. D. Gleaton; two sons, Joe and Benny, and one daughter, daugh-ter, Juanita, all of Roosevelt; three brothers, Joe Snyder, of Roosevelt; Oral Snyder, Farm-ington. Farm-ington. and Keith Snyder, Portland, Port-land, Orqgon. Funeral services forMrs. Gleaton Glea-ton were conducted Tuesday, November 25 a 1 p. m. in the Roosevelt Baptist church with the Rev. Charles Ray officiating. Burial was in the Roosevelt cem-etary cem-etary under the direction of the Dillman Funeral Home. |
