Show PT A Hold Monthly Meeting The Roosevelt Parent and Teacher group held its monthly meeting Thursday, November 30, at the Elementary school. The largest crowd to attend such a gathering for some time, was present and a fine program was enjoyed. A skit, presented by Mr. and Mrs. Willard Day, Mrs. Allred and Mrs. Frank Griffin, protray-ed protray-ed some reasons why parents fail to become members of the National Congress of Parent and Teacher association and reminded remind-ed us of the desirability and wisdom wis-dom of becoming more enthusiastic enthusi-astic members. John E. Wiscombe discussed some problems confronting us in regards to our edacutional system and suggested ways in which we may and should endeavor en-deavor to improve conditions in our district. New Refrigeration Equipment Purchased He announced the purchase of new refrigeration equipment for our hot lunch rooms and explained ex-plained how important the hot lunch program is to many bus students, also how popular it has become, with practically every ev-ery student participating. In conclusion, con-clusion, Mr. Wiscombe begged parents to bear with the teachers on the more trival natters of to- day, in connection with wartime restrictions and shortages, and focus their minds on the bigger, more important problems of securing se-curing better conditions for tomorrow. to-morrow. "Parents should study, especially, the legislation which is being passed at the present time, in our state, to entirely revamp re-vamp our edcuational system", he declared. The December meeting of the .P T A will be held in connection with the Elementary school Christmas program. Fathers, as well as mothers are urged to join our group and lend their support to the fine winter program pro-gram which is under way. |
